Handicap Manager and

Tournament Manager Setup and Update

Instructions when using Avast Antivirus

Avast Antivirus often makes a false positive virus detection on the Handicap Manager and Tournament Manager setup and update programs.  It also periodically makes a false positive detection on the Handicap Manager and Tournament Manager executable programs.  This has been reported to Avast but to date no action from Avast has been taken.

If you are using Avast, in order to install or update your system you will need to temporarily disable Avast.

As shown in the image below, from within Avast you should click on "Security" / "Antivirus" / "File System Shield" / "Stop" / "Stop for 10 minutes".  Avast will automatically restart after the 10 minutes.

When Avast reactivates it may display a dialog suggesting that the program "c:\hm4\hm4win.exe" or "C:\tm4\tm4win.exe" are acting suspiciously.  If this occurs you should click on the "Ignore" button.

If you have any problems or questions, please let us know.
